“Platinum” Mike Perry may be one of the most polarizing figures on the Ultimate Fighting Championship roster, but the welterweight has the hands, and elbows apparently, to back up what he says.
Perry stepped into the octagon at “UFC Fight Night 108” prepared to prove to the world that he has what it takes to hang in there with some of the best and did just that when he sent Jake Ellenberger crashing to the mat in their main card fight at Bridgestone Arena.
The Nashville, Tennessee fans were rowdy as soon as the main card kicked off and Perry fed off their energy as soon as the fight started. Perry had eaten a fair amount of shots in the opening round but did not shy away from standing and trading with Ellenberger, regardless.
Perry got within striking distance of Ellenberger in the second round and threw a short elbow that sent Jake crashing to the mat. The referee waved off the fight immediately making it Perry’s first walk-off short elbow KO in the octagon. Check out the replay in the clip below:
