Former UFC Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman was hoping to start his path back to the top of his weight class with a victory over Gegard Mousasi, but controversy marred the co-main event of “UFC 210”.
Mousasi tied Weidman up and, with both hands on the canvas, Weidman thought he was protected by the knees. Mousasi threw two knees that forced the referee to step in and halt the action, ready to warn Mousasi for the illegal blows. Instant replay showed that the knees were clean, however, and the bout was ultimately stopped by the doctors.
Now, video evidence has come out showing a frame-by-frame shot of the second knee to show that it was, in fact, illegal! Check it out for yourself:
