After what turned out to be another wild morning filled with controversy at the early weigh-ins, the dust has settled and the card remains intact!
Team Alpha Male’s Cynthia Calvillo was preparing herself for her second run inside the world-famous octagon until it was reported this morning that Pearl Gonzalez would not be able to fight despite making weight. It was later revealed that it was the breast implants of Gonzalez that would prohibit her from entering the cage, as implants are barred from active competition in New York.
UFC never officially announced the fight was off, however, and after working out some minor details with the New York Athletic Commission the fight is back on! Both Calvillo and Gonzalez hit the stage hot-tempered for the weigh-in ceremony! Calvillo got a little too close for comfort for Dana White and he felt he had to separate the two, preventing them from making contact. Watch it all play out in the clip below:
