UFC President Dana White has been trying to pull together an epic cross-promotional matchup between UFC lightweight champion Conor “Notorious” McGregor and boxing phenom Floyd Mayweather Jr. However, things have been rather tasking for the president.
As a result, Dana White recently explained that this deal needs to go through soon or he will need to move on. Now, it would appear that the UFC president has reached an agreement with Conor McGregor. As reported by Bloody Elbow, Dana White spoke with Brett Okamoto about the situation.
In their interview, the UFC president explained that he and McGregor have come to basic terms, but still need to sign the papers. “(Conor and I) are not meeting. We’re right there to get this deal done. I would like to get it done this Sunday, and start negotiating with team Mayweather.
“I think we’re there. Conor and I have agreed on a deal. Then you get a bunch of lawyers involved, and it (could get) stupid. As soon as this is done, we go to work. It will be me an (Al) Haymon, in Vegas or LA.” White told Okamoto.
