Former UFC title challenger Cat Zingano wants the UFC to put on a women’s featherweight tournament, and she would like to be a part of it.
On Monday, Zingano suggested, via Twitter, the UFC make a tournament with 145-pound women. In the tournament, Zingano would fight Cindy Dandois, and Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino would fight Invicta Featherweight Champion Megan Anderson.
The two winners of their fights would go on to coach the next season of The Ultimate Fighter, where the UFC will crown their first ever UFC women’s flyweight champion.
The future of the women’s featherweight division is unknown at this time. UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion Germaine de Randamie’s future in the UFC is also uncertain. With the exception of Justino, the UFC also has yet to sign any female featherweight fighters despite the promotion already crowning a champion in the weight class.
Imagine 145lbs tournament to start fw where @criscyborg vs @MeganA_mma fights winner @DandoisCindy vs @CatZingano as #TUF26 coaches. @ufc
