UFC Bantamweight Champion Cody Garbrandt revealed when he wants to defend his title next.
Garbrandt was scheduled to defend his title against former UFC Bantamweight Champion TJ Dillashaw on July 8 at UFC 213.
However, Garbrandt suffered a back injury and was forced to withdraw from the fight.
On a recent episode of The MMA Hour, Garbrandt said he wants to fight Dillashaw as soon as possible.
“In a perfect world, I’d whip TJ’s (expletive) on July 29,” Garbrandt said. “I’m tracking my progress weekly. I’m not trying to prolong this fight with TJ. I don’t want to go around and deal with this dickhead for that long. The guy is a cornball and just keeps telling lies on top of lies.”
Even though Garbrandt would still like to fight Dillashaw in July, he admitted it may not be possible. Regardless, he wants to defend his title this year, and hopefully fight again before the end of 2017.
