After leading the UFC to their biggest grossing year in history, in 2016, Conor McGregor has idly sat by as the promotion struggles in 2017 without him.
That could very well change here in the very near future though, as Conor McGregor has officially signed a contract to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a boxing match. Of course, as of the time of this report, Mayweather’s signature has yet to be drafted on any agreements to fight, but that’s not to say he won’t.
Now, whether or not we know who he’s facing yet or not, Conor McGregor has confidently entered into his first day of training camp, and taken to instagram with the announcement. It is likely that his next opponent will indeed be Floyd Mayweather, but the UFC houses several viable options for their mega-star as well.
The only thing we really know at this point is that Conor McGregor does plan a return to action in 2017, and he’s started a camp.
