Conor McGregor Explains Why Khabib Won’t Ever Get A Shot Against Him

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has few fighters as consistently targeted as lightweight champion Conor “Notorious” McGregor. With the fighter currently celebrating the birth of his newborn baby, fighters are beginning to wonder when the champion will return to the division.

However, fighters have been calling out the champion since before his momentary leave from the sport. Last year, after the champion defeated Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205, Conor McGregor spoke on if he would ever face top contender Khabib Nurmagomedov.

McGregor explained to the media, after his victory: “Look, he’s fought once in eight years. He ain’t fight too frequent for my liking. For me to commit to something like that, I need solid proof that people are going to show up.

“And he’s a consistent pull-out merchant. I need to see activity. I need to see consistency. I need to see me. If you want me to come and change your life, if you want me to come pick you, you better have some damn reasons for me to do that.”
