Floyd Mayweather Credits His Father For Boxing Success

Boxing legend Floyd “Money” Mayweather credits his father, Floyd Mayweather Sr., for his success in the sport.

In an interview with TMZ, Mayweather discussed his father’s influence on his career.

“I owe all the thanks to my dad,” Mayweather said. “My dad started me off in the beginning. The first thing he taught me was the less you get hit, the longer you’ll be able to last in the sport of boxing, and that’s what I did.”

Mayweather made a career in boxing due to not getting hit. He is widely considered to be one of the greatest defensive fighters in the history of boxing.

Mayweather is currently retired from boxing but is contemplating to come out of retirement to fight in a dream boxing match against UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor.
