Sorry Mousasi fans, it looks like Fake News has hit the UFC.
After an Ariel Helwani tweet revealed today that Gegard Mousasi and the UFC had come to terms on a new contract, the MMA world rejoiced. We were told that the UFC made an official offer to Mousasi to face Luke Rockhold later this year.
It appeared as if the deal was done, and the UFC didn’t lose a top free agent on the open market.
Well, Mousasi says Helwani got it wrong, and he’s calling it fake news.
Check it:
Sadly, Fake news happening about my contract situation. No deal yet with @ufc . U will hear it from me first if it happens. @arielhelwani
