Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre is making his return to the sport of mixed martial arts after over three years away from the octagon. However, his return may be later than initially believed.
The former UFC welterweight champion has decided to move to a new division for his return to the octagon. With no middleweight UFC fights under his belt, Georges St-Pierre will be making his return in a middleweight title fight match against “The Count.”
UFC middleweight champion Michael “The Count” Bisping has implored his opponent to set a date for the match, as one has not yet been set. The champion has been urging St-Pierre to accept a fight date in July, perhaps during UFC’s International Fight Week.
However, manager to Michael Bisping and many other UFC fighters, Audie Attar appeared on last week’s edition of The MMA Hour. On the episode, the manager explained that he expects the fight to take place in late fall or early winter.
