Invicta FC Featherweight Champion Megan Anderson is campaigning for a fight against Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino.
On Monday’s edition of The MMA Hour, both Justino and Anderson verbally agreed to fight each other at UFC 214 on July 29 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
The UFC’s women’s featherweight division has been on halt since the promotion crowned its first champion back in February.
At UFC 208, Germaine de Randamie became the first women’s 145-pound champion in the UFC after she won a decision against former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Holly Holm.
With De Randamie’s future unknown at this time, Justino has begun looking for other options on who to fight in the UFC.
Anderson has since stepped up to the plate, and it willing to join the UFC for a fight against Cyborg.
Anderson is currently on a four-fight win streak. She won the interim Invicta featherweight title in her last fight by defeating Charmaine Tweet by TKO. Since then, Justino has relinquished the Invicta featherweight title, thus making Anderson the rightful champion.
