Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion Jon “Bones” Jones and current reigning champion Daniel Cormier have been in a bit of a Twitter war as of late. The two fighters are building up to their potential grudge match with every tweet.
However, Jon Jones recently took to social media in a potential near attempt to bury the hatchet between them. “Can someone tell DC he’s a great guy and pat him on the back so we can move on already. #TheChampIsHere.” Jon Jones stated over Twitter.
Jon Jones is nearing the end of his USADA enforced one year suspension from the promotion. The mixed martial artist is expected to be eligible again in July. With the former champion nearing the end of his suspension, the two fighters have been sharing heated words yet again.
Daniel Cormier is currently riding a second round submission finish over Anthony “Rumble” Johnson from UFC 210. The submission victory put the champion on a four fight win streak. The only loss on the Cormier’s record was against Jon Jones at UFC 182.
