The UFC has released a new knockout of the week video featuring UFC legend Vitor Belfort.
This week’s KO comes from May 2013 when Belfort knocked out Luke Rockhold in his UFC debut.
Rockhold was coming into this fight with a lot of momentum after being the last Strikeforce middleweight champion. Unlucky for Rockhold, this fight took place during Belfort’s resurgence in 2013.
Belfort went on to knockout Rockhold with a spinning heel kick. This was the second of three straight knockout wins for Belfort. In his previous fight he knocked out Michael Bisping, and in his next fight he knocked out Dan Henderson.
Belfort is scheduled to fight Nate Marquardt on June 3 at UFC 212 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
His next fight will be the last on his UFC contract. It is unknown at this time whether or not this will be the final fight of Belfort’s legendary career. There is also the options of Belfort re-signing with the UFC or him leaving and joining another promotion.
