Megan Anderson Not Fighting Cris Cyborg, Books Fight In Invicta

Invicta Featherweight Champion Megan Anderson will not be making her UFC debut in her next fight.

Anderson will defend her title on July 15 in the main event of Invicta FC 24. Her opponent will be Helena Kolesnyk.

UFC fighter Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino, along with Anderson, have been campaigning to fight one another in the UFC.

The UFC women’s featherweight division has been in shambles as of late. UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion Germaine de Randamie is refusing to defend her title against Justino. Due to Justino’s past use of performance-enhancing drugs, De Randamie would rather be stripped of her belt than have to defend against Justino.

“Cyborg” has since been clamoring for a title shot against Anderson in July at UFC 214. However, with Anderson defending her title in Invicta that fight will not be taking place.

Anderson is on a four-fight win streak in Invicta. All of her recent wins have come by TKO. She won an interim title in her last fight when she defeated Charmaine Tweet. Since that fight, Justino relinquished the Invicta title resulting in Anderson becoming champion.

Anderson’s opponent, Kolesnyk, will be making her Invicta debut when she fights for the title. She is currently undefeated with five victories.
