ONE Women’s Atomweight Champion Angela Lee wants to fight UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk.
Recently, Chatri Sityodtong, the founder of ONE Championship, made a challenge for a cross-promotional fight between Lee and Jedrzejczyk.
In an interview with Sherdog, Lee said she would like to fight the UFC champion, and she also wishes fighters were free to fight anywhere, and anyone, regardless of organizations.
“That would be the ideal situation for fighters,” Lee said. “If there were no contradictions with organizations whatsoever and people could fight whoever they want to fight, that would be perfect. Fighters want to test themselves, and the fans would love it. Will it happen? Who knows what’s going to happen in the future? Of course, I would be open to fight Joanna. I’m open to fighting anyone.”
On Friday, May 26, Lee is scheduled to defend her title against Istela Nunes in Singapore at ONE Championship: Dynasty of Heroes.
