Bellator 179 took place Friday night inside the Wembley Arena in London, England. The mixed martial arts promotion put on a night of exhilarating performances. However, the night’s main event stood as one of the night’s more dominant displays.
In the night’s main event, former UFC competitor Rory “Red King” MacDonald was set to make his debut with the Bellator MMA promotion. For the main event bout, Rory “Red King” MacDonald went face to face with fellow welterweight Paul Daley.
The bout was cut short in the second round, as “Red King” was crowned victorious. In the second round, MacDonald managed to get his opponent to the ground. After that, the victor sank in a rear-naked choke for a submission victory.
Rory MacDonald’s win over Paul Daley pulled himself out of a two fight losing streak. The fighter most recently faced a unanimous decision loss to Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson at UFC Fight Night 89 last year.
