“Super” Sage Northcutt is set to make his return to the UFC.
On July 29, at UFC 214, Northcutt will fight Claudio Puelles.
Northcutt will be returning to the lightweight division. Most of Northcutt’s success in the UFC has come at 155 pounds. All three of Northcutt’s UFC wins have come in the lightweight division, while both of his losses were at welterweight.
Northcutt is coming off a submission loss in December. In Sacramento, Northcutt was submitted by undefeated prospect Mickey Gall.
Puelles is also coming off a loss. Back in November, Puelles made his UFC debut in a losing effort against Martin Bravo.
Overall, Puelles has seven wins in his MMA career, with the majority of his victories coming by submission.
UFC 214 will take place in Anaheim, California. UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier will defend his title against former champion Jon Jones in the main event.
