UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic is set to defend his belt in the main event of tonight’s UFC 211. The fighter will be facing former UFC heavyweight champion Junior Dos Santos in the main event, ensuring an exciting fight for the night’s main card.
However, the heavyweight champion recently appeared on the Three Amigos Podcast to discuss something else. Having recently watched the intense boxing matchup of Anthony Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko.
In the end, Anthony Joshua defeated his opponent by TKO. Now, it would appear that Stipe Miocic would not mind fighting the boxing phenom himself.
Miocic explained on the Three Amigos Podcast, as transcribed by Bloody Elbow, “I saw a good bit of it, and it was a great fight, definitely. They came after each other and gave people what they wanted to see. They took it to town and they didn’t care what happened. They were just trying to knock each other out, which people love.”
As far as if the UFC heavyweight champion would like to face Anthony Joshua, Miocic was quick to respond. “Oh yeah, 100-percent. I would love to do that. It’d be great. I’d love to fight Joshua. I think that would be an amazing opportunity against an amazing fighter. I think I’ve got what it takes to give him a run for his money—I might beat him. I know he’s tough, but so am I.” He said.
