“The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung recently got into a heated Twitter exchange with fellow UFC featherweight contender Ricardo Lamas.
Jung challenged Lamas to a fight in August.
“Fight (on) undercard with someone else or fight me in the main event in August. Your call” Jung tweeted to Lamas.
Lamas accepted Jung’s challenge but said he wanted to fight in May or June and is not willing to wait until August to fight.
“Guess you’ll have to fight someone else then. Korea doesn’t broadcast undercard fights so I won’t be seeing you fight,” Jung responded.
At this time neither fighter has a scheduled fight. The two were once scheduled to fight back in 2012.
However, their fight was canceled and both fighters received title shots against UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo. Jung received the first title shot but lost by TKO in August 2013. Lamas received a title shot in Feb. 2013 but lost to a decision to Aldo.
Both Jung and Lamas are coming off major wins in the UFC featherweight division. Jung is coming off a knockout win over Dennis Bermudez in February. Lamas is coming off a submission win over Charles Oliveira in November.
