The UFC returned to Stockholm, Sweden for a special Sunday edition of UFC Fight Night.
In the main event, Sweden’s own Alexander Gustafsson fights fellow former title challenger Glover Teixeira.
Before the pivotal light heavyweight fight, the UFC once again stacked the card with numerous intriguing matchups.
During the FOX Sports 1 prelims, middleweight veterans squared off as Trevor Smith fought Chris Camozzi.
Smith was the first fighter to throw strikes. He used his punches and leg kicks to set up a takedown. Smith got Camozzi to the ground. Smith secured top postiiton and began throwing blows until Camozzi got back to his feet. Both fighters then exchanged knees in the clinch position. Smith managed to land another takedown. The round ended with Smith landing punches and elbows on the ground.
Smith came out more aggressive in the second round. After landing a couple punches, Smith took Camozzi down. Smith landed hard punches to the face and body while on the ground. A cut opened on Camozzi’s left eye due to Smith’s shots on the ground. Towards the end of the round, Smith get into full mount and manages to take Camozzi’s back, but Camozzi managed to roll over and get back into half guard to finish the round.
The final round began with Camozzi landing a couple quick jabs. Smith went for a takedown but Camozzi stopped it. Smith continued to work for a takedown, but Camozzi fought to stay on his feet. Eventually, Smith once again get his opponent to the ground. The fight ended with Smith landing hard shots on the ground to Camozzi.
