Despite the world’s clamor for a mega-fight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather, the deal, even when signed by all parties, is far from being done.
One obstacle in the way of both fighters comes in the form of a license for the bout. The local government must approve the fight, and approve the merits of each athlete in their ability to win the fight.
With Conor having no boxing matches, and Floyd widely considered the greatest of all time, the bout poses a regulatory risk.
Conor submitted his application for a license a couple weeks ago, and apparently Floyd has yet to even do so.
The update though, as that this bout is far from being made.
Check it:
Per the NAC, McGregor's boxing license has yet to be officially approved because they're requesting more info. No cause for concern, though.

Mayweather, on the other hand, has yet to apply for his license. Also, the NAC tells me neither promoter has asked to secure a date. Yet.

That said, everyone I've talked to continues to feel confident about the fight and are hopeful it will get done sooner rather than later.
