Both Van Damme and Norris are world famous for their martial arts movies and television shows. However, both men are much more than just actors. Both men, have legitimate backgrounds in various forms of martial arts.

At one time, Norris and Van Damme trained together. It is believed Norris actually helped Van Damme get his start in the film industry in North America.
While neither man actually competed in the sport of mixed martial arts, their success in the world of television has made them both pioneers of the sport.
