On Wednesday, UFC President Dana White confirmed he had come to an agreement with UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor for him to make his professional boxing debut against Floyd “Money” Mayweather.
White made the announcement while appearing on TNT’s Inside The NBA. He appeared on the show after attending the NBA playoff game between the Boston Celtics and Clevland Cavaliers. White is a well-known supporter of sports teams from Boston.
“The McGregor side is done. I’m starting to work on the Mayweather side now,” White said.
“I’m not saying the fight will happen, but I got one side done and now it’s time to work on the other. If we can come to a deal with (Al) Haymon and Mayweather, the fight will happen.”
