For the second time in history, the sport of mixed martial arts is being contested in the historic Madison Square Garden in New York City.

On Saturday, Bellator MMA hosted one of their most stacked cards in the promotion’s history.

At Bellator: NYC, Bellator Lightweight Champion Michael Chandler defended his championship against Brent Primus.

Chandler started the fight calm and collective. Primus hurt Chandler’s leg with kicks. He managed to drop the champion. Chandler struggled to stand on his left leg. Chandler then dropped Primus with a right hand. Primus recovered and attacked the leg. The referee then stepped in and stopped the fight. Controversy ensued because you can’t pause an MMA fight. The referee then stopped the fight.
