Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Chuck Liddell may have a new home in the world of MMA.
Bellator MMA CEO Scott Coker recently had lunch with Liddell and offered him a role in the promotion. Coker confirmed the job offer with MMAjunkie.
Liddell would not be fighting for Bellator, but would instead be an ambassador for the promotion.
Other retired MMA legends, such as Royce Gracie and Dan Henderson, have accepted ambassador roles for Bellator.
Liddell has recently shown an interest in returning to the cage as a competitor. If Liddell were to fight again, Bellator could be a good home for the MMA legend. The promotion is known for booking fair fights between legends of the sport, instead of having older fighters fight up-and-coming prospects.
Liddell is a UFC Hall of Famer. He won the UFC championship back in 2005 and managed to defend the title on four separate occasions. Liddell’s illustrious career includes notable wins over Randy Couture, Tito Ortiz, and Vitor Belfort.
