UFC President Dana White has been having some issues as of late with popular news organizations.
In an interview with TMZ, White claims that allegations that he is not involved in the negotiations for a boxing match between Floyd “Money” Mayweather and UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor are false.
“We live in a world right now where you can’t believe anything you read,” White said. “Who else would be running the Mayweather-McGregor deal other than me?”
The L.A. Times recently reported that White was not a part of the negotiations. Instead, Ari Emanuel, of WME-IMG, was speaking on behalf of the UFC.
“What does WME know about making big fights?” White said.
White also claims a recent report by the Las Vegas Review-Journal is false as well. The news publication claimed White had purchased multiple new real estate properties.
“I’ve had a couple of bad days back to back with ‘legitimate’ news stories – the Las Vegas Review-Journal and now The L.A. Times,” White said. “Trust me, I’m running the Mayweather-McGregor deal. I’m the only one in on it.”
