The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is currently tangled up in a string of lawsuits concerning former competitors of the mixed martial arts competition as well as competing promotion Bellator MMA. Now, it would appear that the contract of Eddie Alvarez has been a casualty of the lawsuit.
A group of former UFC fighters initially brought a lawsuit against the UFC, claiming the promotion has a monopoly on the sport. The UFC responsively demanded financial information from fighters and officials of the Bellator promotion for the case. Unwilling to acquiesce, Bellator MMA filed a lawsuit against the UFC.
Now it has been reported that the contract of Eddie Alvarez has become mixed up in the lawsuit. Jason Cruz reported over Twitter, “The Eddie Alvarez contract rears itself in the #UFC lawsuit. This is why we’ll never see a contract filed again.”
