More sources are beginning to confirm that the dream boxing match between Floyd “Money” Mayweather and UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor is now a reality.
On Wednesday, Yahoo! Sports confirmed that Mayweather vs. McGregor will take place Aug. 26 in Las Vegas. None of the parties involved have confirmed where the fight will take place in Las Vegas, but it is safe to assume the fight will be held at either the MGM Grand or T-Mobile Arena.
McGregor and UFC President Dana White had already confirmed that McGregor had agreed to terms to fight Mayweather in a boxing match. Now, it appears Mayweather has officially agreed to terms as well.
On Wednesday, the Nevada State Athletic Commission approved Mayweather Promotion’s request to book the date of Aug. 26. At the time, there was only speculation that could be the date for Mayweather vs. McGregor, but now, that seems to be true.
McGregor will make his professional boxing debut when he fights Mayweather, who is coming out of retirement to fight in his 50th professional fight.
