Today in the ever evolving world of all things UFC, it would appear as if the promotion’s flyweight men’s division is in jeopardy of being closed.
This spat stems from a dispute, between Dana White and the champion of the division Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson, over who the fighter will face next.
D.J. considers himself a purist champion. He doesn’t talk trash to sell fights. He’s not flashing around his record or title defense streak. He just does all his talking in the cage.
Now, the champ is forced to defend himself publicly against a very angry Dana White, who has threatened to close the division entirely if Johnson refuses to fight T.J. Dillashaw.
Well, here’s the champ’s response, and it’s not pleasant.

“Yea, they called they said ‘yo’… Mick Maynard was getting ready to take off… He said, ‘Hey man this is what they come back with. It’s either TJ or we close the flyweight division.’
I said, ‘close the motherfucking division then.”
“If someone’s willing to do that, that shows they have no interest in supporting their champion. I’ve never missed weight, I always show up on time … I’ve done a lot and for them to say that… I said f*cking close it!'”
“… I had to believe them because I was standing my ground. If you say something I believe you’re going to do it. When he told me that, I said alright…”
