Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones shared some strong words towards his upcoming opponent on Thursday.
On July 29, at UFC 214, Jones will fight UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier in the main event.
“Imagine having so much power over a man that he thinks your abilities are supernatural,” Jones said in a tweet directed at Cormier.
Cormier has recently been claiming that Jones as been using performance-enhancing drugs throughout his UFC career.
“The difference between you and I. I’ve punished the mother(expletive) I thought were on steroids. You protect your pride with lies,” Jones tweeted.
Cormier and Jones were scheduled to fight last July at UFC 200. However, Jones tested positive for a banned substance just days before the fight was supposed to take place. Jones claims his failed drug test was due to him taking a male sexual enhancement pill.
Jones successfully defended his title against Cormier back in 2015. Since then, Jones has been stripped of his title due to incidents outside of the cage. With Jones being stripped, Cormier managed to win the title and has defended it on two separate occasions.
