Jeff Mayweather, the uncle of Floyd “Money” Mayweather, says UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor doesn’t have much chance defeating his nephew in a boxing match.
“Boxing is something completely different. How many MMA guys out there, realistically, can even fight. Floyd has beaten over 20 world champions, guys who have made their careers as a boxer. Not guys who are a (expletive) kickboxer or an MMA guys. This is strictly boxing,” Mayweather said.
“You act like Floyd ain’t never knocked no one out. I guarantee you this. I guarantee you. You’ll see one this time,” Mayweather said about his nephew’s fight against the UFC champion.
On Wednesday, both Mayweather and McGregor confirmed that the two will fight in a boxing match. The two will compete in a 12-round fight at 154 pounds.
Mayweather vs. McGregor will take place Aug. 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
