Former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Miesha Tate is happy Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino punched Angela Magana last month at the UFC Athlete Retreat.
After Magana has posted insulting photos of “Cyborg” mocking her appearance, Justino confronted her while the two were in Las Vegas, and ended up punching the strawweight fighter.
Tate talked about the incident between “Cyborg” and Magana while visiting Brazil for UFC 212.
“I fully support Cris Cyborg,” Tate told Combate. “I’m happy she punched Angela in the face because Magana practices virtual bullying. She deserved it and I hope Cris does not have more serious problems. Who should have been in trouble was Angela Magana.”
After the incident, Magana pressed felony assault charges on Justino.
The UFC has not punished “Cyborg” for her actions at the fighter retreat. However, it does not appear Justino will be in much trouble because UFC President Dana White recently announced Justino will fight at UFC 214 on July 29.
