Former Invicta FC featherweight champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino and UFC strawweight Angela Magana had a confrontation at the recent 2017 UFC fighter summit. Now, former UFC bantamweight champion Miesha Tate is ready to weigh-in on the situation.
Following weeks of social media trash talking from Angela Magana, “Cyborg” confronted the strawweight and then struck her. Police were called to the scene after Magana was struck by Justino, with Magana electing to press charges.
In a recent interview with MMA Fighting, Miesha Tate explained that she is taking the side of Cristiane Justino.
“That was a great day for me, I thought it was wonderful. I wish she would have punched Angela harder. Angela is a bully, you know? She’s like a child who never grew up.”
“It’s not right,” Tate continued. “And I think that there should be harsher consequences for people who publicly bully people on the internet in person, everything. So, I think she had it coming, and I don’t blame Cyborg a bit.”
As far as Justino being legally penalized for her actions, Tate had this to say “I hope that the legal system looks at everything, because [Magana] really had it coming. So I’m Team Cyborg all the way with that.”
