Controversial UFC and Bellator veteran “War Machine” was sentenced to life in Prison yesterday, after being found guilty of 29 counts of assault and other charges stemming from the nightmare beating of adult film actress Christy Mack.
The Las Vegas courts gave the fighter the option for parole, but only after 36 years is served behind bars. Putting the UFC vet in a position where he will not be a free man until he is at least 71 years old, if not complete-life-time incarceration.
The victim of the fighter closed out the court proceedings with a heartfelt victim statement, telling the jurors and judge that if he was freed, he’d surely find her and kill her.
The verdict and subsequent sentencing puts an long-awaited end to this terrible chapter in MMA history. And though few MMA fighters touched the topic on social media, we have gathered all the reactions available.
