Boxing champion Chris van Heerden released some sparring footage of him training with UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor, and he didn’t have nice things to say.
Despite saying he respects the UFC champion, Heerden said Floyd “Money” Mayweather will have no issues landing on the UFC champion.
“People telling me Mayweather will have his hands full trying to land on McGregor -STOP IT! I respect McGregor BUT I ain’t Floyd and I landed,” Heerden said in a tweet accompanied by sparring footage of him landing punches against McGregor.
On Wednesday, both Mayweather and McGregor confirmed that they had agreed to terms to fight each other in a boxing match. They will compete in a 12-round fight at 154 pounds.
Mayweather will come out of retirement to fight McGregor. He has been away from the sport of boxing for almost two years. Mayweather is currently undefeated with 49 wins.
McGregor will be making his professional boxing debut when he steps into the ring with Mayweather.
