On Wednesday, Chael Sonnen sent out a plethora of tweets mocking his upcoming opponent Wanderlei Silva.
Sonnen sent out his tweets after it was revealed Silva would not be attending an upcoming press conference for Bellator: NYC. Silva was missing the press conference due to illness.
“It’s not exactly like Pavarotti blowing off “Pagliacci”. He wasn’t gonna add anything valuable anyway,” Sonnen tweeted about Silva missing the press conference.
This is the second press event for Bellator: NYC Silva will not be attending. A few weeks ago, Silva was not able to attend a press event in person and appeared via satellite.
Sonnen will fight Silva in the main event of Bellator: NYC on June 24. This will be Bellator’s first event at the historic Madison Square Garden in New York City. The event will also feature a heavyweight fight between Fedor Emelianenko and Matt Mitrione.
