Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight contender Tony Ferguson has taken to Twitter to give his thoughts on UFC lightweight champion Conor “Notorious” McGregor.
UFC President Dana White recently revealed a private text conversation he had with Conor McGregor concerning Tony Ferguson. In the conversation, Dana White revealed that Conor McGregor was not happy that Ferguson was being payed for a cancelled bout with Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 209.
Nurmagomedov suffered weight management issues that forced the fighter to be rushed to the hospital, thereby cancelling UFC 209’s co-main event. Tony Ferguson declined any replacement bouts for the evening, putting an end to the night’ co-main event.
‘I can’t believe you’re going to pay that bum Tony Ferguson one dollar. He was there, made weight, and you lined up a fight for him with Michael Johnson and he turned it down? (expletive) bum. You shouldn’t pay him a dime.’ White quoted McGregor.
Now, over Twitter, the No. 2 UFC lightweight contender took a shot at the champion with “Calls Himself A god. Coward Who Doesn’t Fight During Family Times- The Messenger Is Calling Son. #YourTimeIsDoneFakeOne.”
Conor McGregor is currently enjoying the recent birth of his son, as well as attempting to string together a cross-promotional match with Floyd Mayweather Jr.
