The UFC has added two major fights to UFC 215 on Sept. 9 at the Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior dos Santos will fight heavyweight prospect Francis Ngannou.
This heavyweight fight will have major title implications. Dos Santos is currently ranked No. 4 in the official UFC heavyweight rankings, while Ngannou is ranked No. 5 in the division.
Dos Santos is coming off a knockout loss against UFC Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic last month at UFC 211.
Ngannou is coming off the biggest win of his MMA career. In January, he knocked out former UFC Heavyweight Champion Andrei Arlovski. Overall, Ngannou is on a nine-fight win streak and is unbeaten in the UFC with five wins.
The UFC also announced a pivotal fight in the light heavyweight division that scheduled to take place at UFC 215.
Undefeated prospect Tyson Pedro will get his biggest test to date when he fights Ilir Latifi.
Pedro is currently undefeated with six wins, while Latifi is coming off a knockout loss to Bellator Light Heavyweight Champion Ryan Bader back in September.
Lastly, the UFC announced a women’s strawweight fight taking place in Mexico City on Aug. 5.
At a UFC Fight Night event, strawweight contender Randa Markos will fight Alexa Grasso.
Markos is coming off the biggest win of her UFC career. In February, she won a split decision against former UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Carla Esparza.
Grasso is coming off a disappointing decision loss to Felice Herrig in February. Prior to the loss, Grasso was undefeated with nine victories.
