It’s now official. Floyd “Money” Mayweather will fight UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor in a boxing match.
On Wedneday, both Mayweather and McGregor confirmed that the historic fight will officially take place. Mayweather vs. McGregor will take place at 154 pounds. The two will fight on Aug. 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Mayweather will come out of retirement and fight for the 50th time in his illustrious boxing career. He has been retired for almost two years, and is undefeated with 49 wins.
McGregor will be making his professional boxing debut when he steps into the ring with the all-time boxing great. The UFC champion is currently on a two-fight win streak. He won the 155-pound title in his last fight by knocking out then-champion Eddie Alvarez.
After the highly anticipated fight was made official, fighters waisted little time to share their thoughts on this historic announcement.

The #MayweatherVsMcGregor fight is about publicity and $$$. Like another Fast and Furious movie… campy fun that means nothing in the end
