UFC heavyweight Alistair Overeem recently survived an explosion that took place at his hotel.
On Monday, an explosiong took place at the hotel Overeem was staying at in Albaquerque, New Mexico.
“I heard a big boom,” Overeem told the Albuquerque Journal. “I thought it was nothing going on, but one of my teammates came and got me ‘we need to get out of here now.’ There was a huge black cloud. It was a little hectic, but I think the situation is under control now.”
Overeem also tweeted photos after the explosion took place.
“Just survived a huge explosion next to my hotel room.. big boom & flames all ok and healthy tho! 5 days out!” Overeem said in a tweet.
On Saturday, Overeem is scheduled to fight former UFC Heavyweight Champion Fabricio Werdum at UFC 214 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
