Another major fight has been confirmed for the UFC’s upcoming Fight Night in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
On Thursday, “Platinum” Mike Perrey confirmed he will be fighting former UFC title challenger Thiago Alves on Sept. 16.
Perry is one of the top rising prospects in the UFC. He is coming off a knockout win over longtime welterweight contender Jake Ellenberger.
Overall, Perry has an MMA record of 10-1 with all of his wins coming by knockout or TKO.
Alves is coming off a decision win over fellow former title challenger Patrick Cote back in April.
Alves’ storied UFC career includes notable wins over Jordan Mein, Chris Lytle, Josh Koscheck, and former UFC Welterweight Champion Matt Hughes.
This UFC Fight Night will be headlined by a pivotal battle in the middleweight division. Former UFC Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold will fight David Branch in the main event.
UFC Fight Night: Rockhold vs. Branch will take place at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh.
