Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight Gilbert “El Nino” Melendez recently hinted to his return to the realm of mixed martial arts. Now it would appear that the MMA veteran may be making an appearance at UFC 215.
MMA journalist Damon Martin recently reported over Twitter, “BREAKING: Jeremy Stephens vs. Gilbert Melendez at featherweight in the works for UFC 215 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on Sept 9. #UFC”
Melendez was last in the octagon at UFC on FOx 20 in 2016. The fighter suffered a unanimous decision loss to Edson Barboza. Now the fighter is facing a three fight losing streak in the mixed martial arts promotion.
