Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight champion Chris Weidman put on an impressive performance inside the octagon last night, July 22. The mixed martial arts promotion made its first trip to Long Island, New York for UFC on FOX 25. In the night’s main event, Weidman faced off against Kelvin Gastelum.
The former champion earned a submission victory over Gastelum in the third round of the night’s main event, pulling Chris Weidman out of a three fight losing streak.
Following the performance, reigning champion Michael “The Count” Bisping had a few words for the fighter. Going to Twitter to tell Weidman, “Say my name, (expletive),” Bisping received a message of his own from the former champion.
Following his main event victory, Chris Weidman joined the UFC on FOX crew to discuss his beef with Bisping. “Bisping will find out the truth as long as he knows how to sign the dotted line and stops being a punk.” Weidman said.
