John Kavanagh, the head coach of UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor, thinks McGregor’s professional boxing debut may have a fairytale ending.
Kavanagh recently compared McGregor’s real life situation to what took place in the second “Rocky” film.
McGregor is currently scheduled to make his professional boxing debut against boxing icon Floyd “Money” Mayweather.
Mayweather has been perfect in his boxing career. He has earned a professional record of 49-0.
Mayweather holds the same professional boxing record as Apollo Creed, who is the antagonist of the first two “Rocky” films.
In the second “Rocky” movie, Creed loses to Rocky and earns the first loss of his boxing career.
If McGregor pulls off the upset, Mayweather will have the same record as Creed did. And just like the “Rocky” films, McGregor will surely have movies made about him after pulling off possibly the biggest upset in combat sports history.
However, it should be noted, Creed defeated Rocky the first time they met in the ring by winning a split decision. Rocky defeated Creed in their rematch.

He uh was 48-0 when he uh beat Rocky. Then 49-0 when he uh lost. Also uh just a bit of fun on rest day. Uh.
