Floyd “Money” Mayweather and UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor have agreed to extensive drug testing prior to their highly anticipated boxing match.
Both Mayweather and McGregor will be tested by the U.S Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), who also does drug testing for the UFC.
“The program is consistent with other professional boxing programs USADA has conducted over the years where the athletes agree to robust testing,” a USADA spokesperson told MMA Fighting.
Both Mayweather and McGregor have already been tested by USADA on multiple occasions this year. McGregor has been tested five times in 2017 due to him being on the UFC roster. Mayweather has been tested twice since coming out of retirement.
After two years away from the sport, Mayweather is fighting for the 50th time in his illustrious career and may earn his biggest payday as well.
However, to earn that massive payday, Mayweather must put his perfect 49-0 record on the line against McGregor, who will be making his professional boxing debut.
Mayweather vs. McGregor will take place Aug. 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
