Hype Deserved! Gaethje Comes From Behind To Finish Johnson In Fight Of The Year Contender

UFC International Fight Week is upon us and on Friday the UFC hosted The Ultimate Fighter: Redemption Finale in Las Vegas.

In the main event, undefeated Justin Gaethje made his UFC debut against lightweight contender Michael Johnson.

Johnson landed a few strong punches to start the fight. Gaethje lost his balance but recovered. Gaethje then rocked Johnson with a knee inside a clinch, but Johnson quickly recovered. Gaethje then began to attack with leg kicks. While landing leg kicks, Gaethje snuck in some successful punches as well. Johnson also landed strikes, but Gaethje appeared to do more damage. Johnson rocked Gaethje and took him down. Gaethje stood up and ate brutal punches and uppercuts to finish the round.

Johnson continued to throw knockout punches to start the second round. Gaethje went back to using leg kicks to slow Johnson down. Johnson rocked Gaethje again with a brutal punch. Johnson got Gaethje against the cage, but Gaethje used a knee to the head to escape. Johnson began to attack the body as well as Gaethje’s head. Gaethje went on to land clean shots of his own. Gaethje rocked Johnson with uppercuts. Johnson fell to the ground but the referee forced him to stand up. Gaethje unloaded up against the cage to win the fight by TKO.
