Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones is no longer suspended from competing in the UFC.
As of July 6, Jones suspension due to his failed drug test last year has expired.
Jones was suspended for one year by the U.S Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) after testing positive for a banned substance. Jones claims the failed drug test was due to him taking a male sexual enhancement pill.
The news of Jones’ failed drug test came just days before he was scheduled to face UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier in the main event of UFC 200. Due to the failed test, Jones was forced to withdraw from the fight.
Despite not fighting in over a year, Jones will still get his opportunity to fight Cormier for the UFC title. Cormier will defend his championship against Jones in the main event of UFC 214, which will take place July 29 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
It is July 6, 2017, which means @JonnyBones' one-year suspension is officially over.
