Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones destroyed his upcoming opponent with a comment on his Instagram page.
On Tuesday, UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier posted a picture on his Instagram from his time competing in the Olympics.
“Happy 4th of July everyone. Be safe and have a wonderful holiday. So lucky to have represented this great country,” Cormier wrote on his Instagram page.
Jones responded to Cormier’s post with a comment about how Cormier did in the 2008 Summer Olympics.
“By not making weight?” Jones wrote on Cormier’s post.
Cormier was a team captain for the 2008 Olympic team. However, Cormier did not compete due to kidney failure, which was caused by him cutting weight.
Jones and Cormier have been involved in one of the most heated rivalries in MMA history. In Jan. 2015, Jones defeated Cormier and successfully defended his title.
On July 29, Cormier will defend his light heavyweight title against Jones in the main event of UFC 214.
