Josh Barnett NOT Guilty, Reveals Reason For Failed UFC Drug Test

Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Josh Barnett says his recently failed drug test was due to tainted supplements.

Barnett recently received a temporary suspension from the U.S Anti-Doping Agency after testing positive for a banned substance.

On a recent episode of Joe Rogan’s podcast, Barnett revealed he had taken a tainted supplement after paying to have USADA test all of the supplements he had recently taken.

“My manager said, the guy at the lab said, ‘this is such a negligible amount it looks like whatever you had taken had been tainted in the first place. There is no reason why a guy your size would even bother having a negligible amount of whatever this (expletive) is in your system,'” Barnett said.

Barnett also said he doesn’t know what the current status of his suspension is. He has yet to hear from USADA or the UFC whether or not his suspension will be lifted.

“I’ve spent like two grand having supplements tested because I would keep bits of everything I would take just in case,” Barnett said. “This was a brand I’d taken before. This was a supplement that had been an ingredient in other things I’ve never had a problem with.”
